Alf, a down-on-his-luck adventurer, is assigned to act as a bodyguard to the childlike reporter Izumi by her editor at the publishing company Swords and Friends. Their mission is to seek out the truth behind the erroneous information compiled in the bestselling Dragon Encyclopaedia that Swords and Friends publishes to correct the embellishments and exaggerations therein. Izumi hopes to uncover the truth and bring accuracy to the publication.
