Após feitos dignos de um guerreiro na Guerra Russo-Japonesa, o soldado conhecido como “Sugimoto, o imortal” vai para Hokkaido, onde houve a corrida do ouro, em busca de uma grande quantia de dinheiro para realizar certo objetivo. Ali, encontra pistas que levam a um grande tesouro escondido pelos ainus, mas ele precisa enfrentar também a natureza selvagem opressiva e prisioneiros violentos, assim como conhece uma garota ainu e um raro lobo-de-hokkaido. Tem início a luta pela sobrevivência em busca do ouro!!!
