Sabu and Ichi's Detective Stories

The manga gives a strong portrait of life in Tokugawa Edo, enhanced by the artwork which draws on Japanese traditional art. **Note**: From 1966-1967, the manga was serialized in Weekly Shonen Sunday. KochiKame: Tokyo Beat Cops
THRILLER·Manga·2026·Finalizado· ·

The typical Kochikame plot involves Ryo-san coming up with a money-making scheme by inventing a new gadget or capitalizing on a fad, achieving great success, calling on Nakagawa's help as things turn sour, and finally losing it all as the fad runs out of steam or out of control. While the plots are gag-driven, much of the humor comes from the juxtaposition of mundane characters with the bizarrely incongruous (Nakagawa's wealth, Maria's appeal, everyone's lack of actual police work), most of which is never explained or rationalized in the slightest. --- - **Won the 30th Japan Cartoonists Association Award Grand Prize in 2001** - **Won the 50th Shogakukan Manga Award Special Jury Prize in 2004** - **Won the Seiun Award for Best Comic in 2017** - **The Previous Holder of the Guinness World Record for Most Volumes of a Single Manga Series**

Ryuu: Ron
AWARD WINNING·Manga·2026·Finalizado· ·

Kyōto, April 1928. Oshikouji Ryu is 17 years old, and is known as a Kendō prodigy, the 'Dragon of Kyōto'. He will inherit the property of the noble Oshikouji family, but prefers practicing Kendō. He enters Busen, the most renown martial arts school in the country, but his senpai are harsh and intolerable. But Ryu doesn't surrender and overcomes the problems, later on he impresses his senpai and they begin to like him. This manga tells a great story against the richly textured background of historical Japan and China with refined and excellent artwork. Murakami's views on Chinese and Korean people is very warm, and not those of the previous invader and governor such as the extreme right party in Japan. Another interesting part of the manga is its rich depiction of Japanese colorful life. A typical example of the realistic style and a manga of high reputation in Korea and Japan.
